On January 30, 2021, the planet Mercury went retrograde, where it will be until February 20, 2021. The retrograde motion doesn’t mean the planet is moving backward, it just seems like it is based on its relativity to the positions of how it moves, with the Earth, around the sun.

Mercury RX is one of the most controversial transits, especially to astrology newbies upon first hearing of its effects. It causes delays, miscommunication, and a series of unfortunate events some days. As we live through week one of this transit, here is some helpful information to make it through without throwing your laptop out the window.

What To Expect

Yesterday, I attempted to write about Mercury Retrograde, and my computer failed on me for about 5 hours, for the first time in months. This is one example of the delays that this transit may bring about. Including, but not limited to, sending the wrong emails, booking the wrong flight, or missing an interview. Tech glitches and misunderstandings are to be had. But don’t fret you can survive Mercury RX by being aware of its presence. Hopefully, this gives you patience when dealing with technology, making plans, and in your various relationships.

Mercury RX Amidst Aquarius Season

Mercury, the planet of communication, will be in retrograde in the progressive sign Aquarius. Aquarius, ruled by Uranus(the planet of sudden change and revolution), is all about being futuristic and open-minded. The Aquarius impact helps us to focus more on the collective.

With the Sun in Aquarius, we are more willing and able to explore the mind, including worldly topics and global change. Seems like the perfect time right? In my opinion, this is the best transit as we start this year because there’s a sense of newness in the air.

Thriving During Mercury RX

Don’t fret. Though Mercury Retrograde can be a jerk, it is here to teach us more than frustrate us. This transit heightens our awareness when communicating with others, making plans, and dealing with our daily tools. After not being able to type on my laptop yesterday, I took it as an opportunity to brainstorm on my whiteboard and write notes down in my journal instead. It aims to bring appreciation for the communication outlets that we do have. It also aims to help us feel grateful for when things do go right!

Good luck to you during these next few weeks. Remember to slow down, triple-check your emails, and be very patient in your conversations. Check out your zodiac horoscopes by Yogi Approved.
